VSAFFers, thanks for another memorable opening night! Our fifth straight gala sellout means we’re approaching $100,000 raised for Education without Borders since VSAFF began in 2011. Thank you!

What a way to start off VSAFF weekend. Deputy Mayor Adriane Carr declared April “South Africa culture month.” Then around 250 VSAFFers enjoyed the entertaining Hear Me Move. We were thrilled to have co-producer Clare Louis on hand for a Q and A after the show, despite travel delays and lost luggage.

Also, special thanks to the wonderful dancers from OTW Crew (Ones To Watch). You can follow them on Facebook here.

The gala party in the beautiful space at John Fluevog Shoes in Gastown was a hit. Live music. Delicious food. And, of course, great people. Take a moment to check out all our generous food and wine sponsors who help make this night and weekend happen.

Hope to see you at more films throughout the weekend. Full schedule here.
