As the VSAFF organizing committee gears up for the gala opening, we’d like to invite you to join us for an evening with Dolly at Nyala African Restaurant (4148 Main Street at King Edward in Vancouver) on Wed., Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
Dinner is casual and a la carte (no cover), followed by a short film about the legendary Dolly Rathebe, the first lady of township jazz and blues.
In 1998, Dolly Rathebe appeared in person at Nyala Restaurant in a stunning performance. Twelve years later, she appears on-screen in a tribute to her by Miriam Makeba, performed in Johannesburg in 2001.
